"Go green" is term which often heard by our ears and appear in public. This term is to promote thing that is related to preserving environment. One of the ways is by planting trees.
Do not think narrowly that the tree is useful only in form of the wood it gives, so that the tree becomes a low-value object.
In fact, may benefits of trees you have forgotten. Start from providing oxygen for the survival of human and animal. Providing shelter when blazing sun. Providing place to lean back on the exhaustion. And also to strengthen soil structure to prevent landslide, especially in the hills and mountains.
With all available goodness, would be nice if you participate in planting trees. At least for you yard and environment.
One of trees you can plant is Oak trees. If you are really interested. Follow the steps as described below in order you know How to plant an Acorn well ;
1. Prepare the Oak nut (acorn)
To get the best acorn, you should ;
- Choose the acorn with no holes or cracks. Because if like that, there is less possibility to grow. You will only waste your time for waiting.
- Try to get Acorn from local area, because the acorn that comes from other area, when planted, it will require more time to adjust with climate and soil condition in its new environment.
I suggest not to plant oak tree from the small oak tree (seedling) which can be bought every where for several reasons :
- if we have acorns, we do not have to worry about carrying them. Meanwhile, if planted from seedlings you bought, it would be vulnerable to be dead due to shaking on the way to home.
- In addition, the seedling will take along time to adjust to new areas, both climate and soil condition.
- Then, planting from the oak seedling will need special attention. Need to be watered intensively.
2. Prepare Polibag ( pot which is made from plastic). I suggest to use this because when the seedling is moved to the ground, it would not be too difficult.
